Honestly you could take the Devils 1st out of the trade entirely and you'd be close to fair value, considering Devils are taking on that horrendous Mrazek contract.

Devils trade doesn't make much sense. The only thing of value is the 1st round pick. Paying a ton to trade away Mrazek for a goalie who's having as bad a season, has a history of bad season and only saving 1 mil in the process.

If we acquired Mrazek, it would be to compete with Blackwood, not to replace him.

lol horrendous contract? It's 2 years of 3.8, and you guys literally don't have a goaltender. You could even retain half and send him to another team that needs a goalie and get something in return.

Also, this deal in general sucks. Nylander is worth way more than a bunch of scraps

2 first round prospects and 1 first and a second isnt what i call scraps, plud you get a capable backup for campbell who can play 30-35 games

First round prospects? You mean 1st round busts right? Mcleod and bahl have minimal value on their best day, like 4th rounders

Those are some low-ball offers for Nichushkin and Campbell.

Bahl is a 2nd rd pick, and he's the only thing in the deal here that's somewhat intriguing. At the same time, he clearly isn't NHL ready and leafs are in win-now mode. Not worth.
Mcleod is a bust, and a big one at that.
Blackwood has been horrible this season, and NJD are shopping him. His value is very very low right now.

This is scraps. A PPG player, who is in his prime right now, on an extremely manageable contract is worth more than this, yes.

Doesn't really matter of Leafs "fail" or not in the playoffs, the same cap problems remain in the offseason. Mrzarek and his contract remains, no # 1 goalie, and other cap issues with raises to Reilly, and RFAs.
The best thing for the Leafs this spring and summer, is that Leafs win the Cup, and either Marner or Nylander win (or Mrzarek LOL) win the Smythe so their trade value is high.
