Nothing in for it the Hawks. Scheifele can't be signed long term now, and doubt has the desire too, any more than Jets fans do.

Why wouldn't the Jets (or any team) trade within their division? If it helps your team you do it. But you are right....there is not such thing as sign and trade...two years out from UFA.

The Scheifele trade to the Hawks is a joke, The Hawks are heading for a full major rebuild. So why would Scheifele waive to go to Chicago? Scheifele still has a full year before he can be signed long term. And even then why would he sign long term with a team knowing that they're heading for a full rebuild.

Good golly that Scheifele trade its awful for the Jets. The Jets are giving up far and away the most valuable piece yet somehow throw in three other players and a second.

And then the Jets give Pittsburgh a 3rd for some deadweight?
