look at mackinaw. HE Has landeskog and rantanen. Only diff is that mackinon took a pay cut and will take another one, unlike mcdavid. Forsberg is arguably better than landeskog and whether it is a Forsberg, Palat, lehkonen etc. mcdcvid needs a winger like that since he literally plays 0 defense. So yes, necessary if oilers wanna win.

This is so wrong haha. First off, we don’t need another 8M winger, we need defence and goaltending. MacKinnon is good, but we have guys that are good in the top 6. If we can resign Kane, then we are good upfront. McDavid didn’t take a pay cut? When was this? For his contract, the Edmonton Oilers offered him 15M, and he took 12.5M. If that’s not a pay cut, then I don’t know what is. McDavid is all for the team, and he is not a greedy player. MacKinnon will definitely get at least 11M maybe more! Also, McDavid plays with zero defence… haha, this isn’t 2018… he is actually pretty decent defensively, himself and Draisaitl. So, no signing a 8M winger is not necessary, and even if Kane doesn’t come, we are fine.

I’m willing to listen about that jets trade IF able to give one example of a trade for a goalie as a reasonable comparison. Goalies just don’t hold value. Worth way more to the jets than what anyone will be willing to give up.

top line winger, A level prospect, B level prospect and a first seems like quantity and quality considering no goalie has been traded for a package like that in the cap era tells me it’s a massive overpay.

There isn't a top like winger in the package and neither prospect is a blue chip prospect or come close to the value of an elite goaltender. When the offer includes 5 pieces for 1, it tells me that it is a quantity offer and none of the 5 pieces has much value.

I feel like what you want is a 2way winger with good hockey sense for 4.5-6 mil depending on thier scoring level, but you should find a guy who doesnt really finnish to get a better deal. I wonder if evan rodriguez or adriane kempe is more your need here. Honestly maybe thats halloway in 2 years if your farm system can coach him into it..
