I'll be honest, I'm not sure where he'd land on the UFA salary scale. $8 mil+ seems to be the going rate for dmen. He's entering his prime years, can put up 45-50 pts and is a top 4 guy. I based the $8 mil on that.

Sanderson's contract is off because this is a 23/24 ACGM. If Sanderson signs this spring, very likely, and he manages to get healthy enough to play 10 game, every game from April 12th on, he burns a year of his contract, which means his next contract would come after the 23/24 season. You have $75.5MM committed to 15 players for 24/25, and you need to sign Sanderson, Greig, Boucher, Kelly, and Gustavsson.

they can retain 50% or buy him out , neither options are cheap but I would rather see that then giving away high draft picks for someone to take him. You never know that injury may turn out to be long term
