Why would Calgary make that trade? The whole reasoning behind trading Monahan is to resign both Gaudreau and Tkachuk, This basically only saves Calgary $1,125,000 So Calgary easily declines.

I'm not a Hawks fan, but I don't like that Rangers trade.

If I was Davidson I'd be asking for one of Kaako or Lefreniere in return. Nemeth is a plug, Kravtsov is meh, and Georgiev is nothing, but a backup. Lefreniere and Kaako although struggling, still have more of an upside.

The only trade I’m not on board with is the NYR one. Feels like we aren’t getting good enough assets back.

I'm not sure if one year of Kane returns a package of Laf/Kakko+ and definetly doesn't return Newhook/Byram+ from COL. The two 1st's is still nice even though they'll be later. The 2024 pick is at least when Kane might not be there. Just looking at what Philly got for Giroux this package is probably close to double that if you think Tippet and Kravtsov are equal

If Kane wanted to pull a Giroux and go on a cup run somewhere else and then come back tp the hawks in the offseaosn I would be all for that. If he extends somewhere else instead then so be it I guess

IMO Kane still has 4-5 years of Elite play in him, any team acquiring him will agree with that and should pay accordingly. I understand Laf not being an asset they want to part with but Kakko? Yeah, it should start with Kakko at the very least. Especially if this is the off-season.

Maybe if a 3-4 year Kane extension is in place, but I don't think so if not

Well you can think that, but we know for a fact they were interested at the deadline, as was Colorado

Kevin Weekes was just on a podcast stating the Rangers were heavily interested and are still interested. I actually think there's a strong possibility a trade for Kane happens.

I don't think trading DeBrincat is in the cards, they could turn this into a quick rebuild if they move Kane and Toews. There's a lot of teams looking to dump salary the hawks may be able to take advantage of.

If there were ever a time for it to happen, it was this TDL. They had the cap space, positional need, available assets, position in the standings to justify the move, etc. There just isn't going to be room for another winger with a big contract.

Everyone is going to ask for the biggest fish they can for what they're willing to spend. If he would have gone for a 1st, a 2nd and Barron, he'd be on the team. They're not going to suddenly fork over more than that when it makes less sense for their roster. There is a salary cap, and this team has multiple holes to fill.

Nah they definitely would have forked over more had he actually waived his NMC. Trade value had not been discussed. He just didnt want to leave

He's a hockey analyst, not a musician, so I would disagree with that.

Murphy would be great in buffalo but that feels like a pretty big ask.

Johnsons right's + a 2nd next year would be my highest offer.

Remove the 3rd and I would probably do it, then just dump Lucic
