JT Miller and Tomas Hertl are very similar players.
Today Hertl signed an 8 year $65.1M contract AAV $8,137,50
Can the Canucks afford to pay Miller about $67.5M? AAV $8,437,500
IMO the value isn't going to be there for the Canucks.
He would be a great addition for a Cup contending team with plenty of cap space but I just don't see him as a long term fit for the Canucks
8 years of Boeser for $60M might be a better deal AAV$7,500,000

This is going to be really interesting and a massive decision for the Canucks. I think if they keep him past this summer then he probably won't be dealt next deadline since he'll be around for a Playoff push, and since he's likely not being moved now then it has to be in the summer. More teams will be in on him and maybe teams will be more willing to meet our asking price (ex. Colorado if Kadri leaves as a UFA).

With that said, this trade is not enough for Miller. I would say a very, very good young piece straight up would be interesting for the Canucks (Lafreniere, Kakko, Schneider, Byram, etc.) or over half of your farm (1st + 1st + prospect).

Cus if you did you'd know that Fitzgerald wouldn't trade Siegenthaler for Garland one for one.
