The offer is reasonable but I don`t think the Habs will trade with Carolina after the KK fiasco and trolling from the team owner.

The HABS would probably ask 2x1st rd picks just to piss off the Carolina owner. I honestly don`t think the HABS and Canes will make a trade for the next couple of years.

The Habs ask is also a 1st + for Lehkonen and if they don't get that will just keep him since he is under team control for at least another year.

Waddell has been eerily open regarding the Hurricanes' search for a defenseman. Probably a guy like Braun or Kulak is the only move they make, but Waddell isn't going to explode big time at the deadline.

Ya i feel the biggest thing he does is swap Bear for a more stout D-MAN.

The only reason I think they’d deal Bear would be for cap in a Chychrun deal or similar, which I guess is what you’re saying. I suppose, I’ll say I don’t think they want to deal Bear or any current roster D, but add. I keep coming back to a guy like Kulak.

I think MTL could be a one stop shop for the Canes if they could get both Lekhonen and Kulak away from them, within reason. By saying that, I don’t think the Canes would deal assets like Morrow, Drury or their 2023 1st, all of which MTL would likely ask for in one form or another.

Bear's currently on the top pairing. He's been great. I have no idea where this narrative has come from that he's had issues. I've really liked Ethan Bear. They're looking for a LD to step in if there's a major injury to someone like Skjei because I love Ian Cole, but that would be a car crash.

He just did excel on the Hurricanes as much as i thought, but super nice to see him playing now that DeAngelo is out, maybe this is what he needs to help him be a bit more impactful. Not trying to say hes bad but i thought there's more he can bring and he is showing it now. But he needs to carry that when he slots back down. I like the team the way it is which is why i ask, Do they really need to do anything? Like ya if your scared, sure go get guys because of possible inquires.
