    At the 2022 TDL

    Arturri Lehkonen 50% retained : 1 150 000 $
    Brett Kulak : 1 850 000 $

Rangers 1st - 2nd line have great offensive production , but their 3rd line mostly gets stuck in their defensive zone, thus creating very little offensive chances. Lehkonen is an excellent 2-way player that can be slotted right away into the 3rd line.

Kulak is a good option for the 3rd pairing replacing either Nemeth or Hàjek for the playoffs.

      Détails additionnels:
Propose an upgrade to Edmonton's goaltending , which they badly need . Can trade for either Smith or Koskiinen depending on the preference. By taking on Mike Smith , we rid you of the worst of the 2 goalies but taking on Koskinen would free you of some cap to maybe further your depth.

Just a random idea, I don't think the Habs should trade Weber's contract if they intend on being close to the cap ceiling next year. They might as well just use the LTIR benefit for themselves then.

Rangers trade - take out Robertson and the 2nd going to NYR. Also Rangers dont need any money retained.

      Lehkonen & Kulak for Kravtsov, 2nd & 4th.

JVR and a 4 for Petry and a 5 imo. You can drop frost, the salary’s aren’t terribly different and there isn’t really a market to move Petry close to Michigan besides Philly plus he has more term.
Arizona accepts easily, that’s straight forward.
The rangers are basically getting Lehkonen and kulak for kravtsov and Robertson, 2’s offset. Seems fair to me but the rangers fans might feel otherwise.
      Florida likely accepts.
No way Anaheim does that. He’s having a down year but that’s selling very low imo.
Edmonton likely accepts, it’s an upgrade if only a marginal one.
Minnesota would have to be an offseason deal, and it really seems like going LTIR for the next 4 years only compounds their issues. Montreal likely has to sit on that deal for another year or two until they can move it. That’s a ton of term and cap hit even if the dollars paid are low

I understand but seing the return that the trade of Seabrook's contract got, I think it's hard for an owner to not tell his GM to trade him : save money and acquire assets.

Not quite the same situations. Seabrook is owed a lot of actual dollars still. Weber isn't. Also the reason why CHI got a 2nd was because Johnson's contract is 5M and he's going to actually play so Tampa needed to shed that salary no matter what. Getting Seabrook's contract back only, let them resign all their RFA's. TB literally HAD to make this deal in order to not HAVE to trade Sergachev/Cernak/Cirelli.

Minny doesn't HAVE to do anything. Their situation isn't as dire. As for the Habs, if we are spending up to the cap, we might as well use the LTIR to our advantage. Habs aren't a cash poor team, the cap space or cap flexibility is worth more than the small asset they'd probably get for Weber. I don't think it'll be McBain and a 3rd. Maybe just McBain.

Let's sign a 34 yo player with a big concussion background to a multiyear deal north of 7M$.

The guy is clearly the best available defenseman on the FA market , and with the departure of Petry , we need an offensive , puck controling dman. He isn't gonna take a pay cut to come play for the habs, no one is. Also he's currently on his best season as far a ppg goes.

I think all these moves are fair, but I don't believe some of them make sense for the habs
