Description
First, this will never ever ever happen. But assuming they moved every single piece just to win, this is what I would do. Again, not happening. More of an idea/concept.

Can't see Vancouver being happy with Kaapo Busto as the main piece for Boeser. I think they'd rather have a 1st they get to pick and a lower-tier prospect to fill that value.
If Trouba will even waive his NMC for Buffalo then I would think they'd ask for a 1st and possibly even some retention to compensate 4 years at 8 million.

The Trouba deal is interesting from a Sabres standpoint. Unfortunately, Trouba owns a complete NMC for another 2 years. It's unlikely he'll accept the trade. I also doubt the Rags would have to pay the Sabres (or any team with cap space) to take him with the 2nd rd pick. He is still a good player and teams would probably pay the Rags to get him, especially if a retention could be worked out.

Trouba has 4more years at an $8mil Cap hit
Gonna cost u guys much more than a 2nd to get one of the few teams who could fit his Cap in to take him
Multiple 1sts most likely

Trouba doesn’t suck, but his contract does
No one is paying to get him with that Cap hit for that long

If the Rangers kept half, that’s a different story

But no one is paying for him at $8mil per

Trouba has a complete NMC for the next 2 years. Unless he wants to go somewhere else he is going to remain a NYR for the foreseeable future.

And Lafrenierre is not that good. From his draft year, forwards Stuzle, Raymond, Jarvis, Lundell are all outpacing him in PPG. There are others too but the sample size is too low to be significant. Drysdale has more points per game than him as a defender. 50% retention on an elite player and throwing in a second for a player who hasn’t proven anything is pretty laughable.

Nobody said he was good defensively...not like you are stumbling on anything new. Clearly is one of the best playmakers ever in the NHL and probably the best American born hockey player ever and that's despite his lack of defense. Very few players can make something out of nothing offensively single handidly

The point is the full NMC puts Trouba in control of where he goes. It doesn’t matter if his contract is good or bad, he isn’t going anywhere. Sorry Rags fans

Even if he would waive it, there’s only a few teams that could fit his horrible contract
And the Rangers would assuredly have to pay to get rid of it

Kane has been horrific at defense for the past half decade. Like a liability. Hawks needs to rebuild. Team sucks and is old. Laf is young. He could get 20 minutes a night. He is young. I hate him im an Islanders fan. But he just needs to play. Hawks easily win this deal lmao

LMAO you clearly don't watch Kane. Kane has always been bad defensively and arguably has been better in his later years then early years which is still bad but opposite what you're suggesting.

Kane, as widely reported by top analysts, say Kane is worth a 1st or (2) 1sts and a top prospect. Hawks don't do this for AF and a 2nd in that case and not sure they'd do it for AF and a 1st. Moving Kane would kill the fanbase unless it's a massive hull as fans literally come to games to watch him play regardless of a winning or losing team.

20 minutes a night doesn't mean squat if he isn't producing, and he's getting about 16 minutes a night not producing much to Kane's 21:30 minutes a night on average who's obviously producing well over a point per game. Any team acquiring Kane is getting a massive boost to their top 6 for a player for this year's and next year's cup chase; a player very few if any in the league have in regards to playoff success and being able to take over a game.

Google speculative Kane trades from the professional analysts and they will say exactly what I'm saying here. I read all the top analysts on a regular basis and what they are saying is Kane's value is worth more then AF let alone less then what you're suggesting so you can cop out and say I'm bias but it's clear you haven't dug into what the pros say. In fact, a NYR analyst came out yesterday or the day before saying it would take something like a 1st, Kappo, and probably something else to acquire Kane at 1/2 retained. The Athletic, subscribe if you aren't already as they are the best NHL source, had a similar sentiment over the weekend. All this while everyone knows Kane is defensively not good but what he brings offensively far outweighs defensive shortcomings; there is a reason he's widely viewed as the best American player ever.

Not wasting my time any further as you clearly are getting pushback by everyone that has commented and don't take constructive criticism well.

Ok first of all, him being the greatest american doesnt mean anything for this. I really dont think I have to explain why lol. 2nd, this is what I think is fair. To me, a later first and Kakko is less than Laf. Laf has incrdible talent. This will never happen. But this is me guessing what would be needed for each player.

And I love the athletic. theyre incredible. Ive been using my friends subscription for months now lol.

Kane isnt getting moved. Hes like Crosby and Ovi. They will never play for another franchise
