At the TDL , we help the Flyers retain 25 % of Giroux's contract to help to trade him to a contender in return of a couple of picks.

Détails additionnels:
At the 2022 TDL

Arturri Lehkonen 50% retained : 1 150 000 $
Brett Kulak : 1 850 000 $

Rangers 1st - 2nd line have great offensive production , but their 3rd line mostly gets stuck in their defensive zone, thus creating very little offensive chances. Lehkonen is an excellent 2-way player that can be slotted right away into the 3rd line.

Kulak is a good option for the 3rd pairing replacing either Nemeth or Hàjek for the playoffs.

Kravtsov ==2023 2nd round pick
Kulak == Garand
Lehkonen == Berard

    Détails additionnels:
    At TDL 2022,

    Propose an upgrade to Edmonton's goaltending , which they badly need . Can trade for either Smith or Koskiinen depending on the preference. By taking on Mike Smith , we rid you of the worst of the 2 goalies but taking on Koskinen would free you of some cap to maybe further your depth.

    1. Weber, Shea
    Détails additionnels:
    After this season, the 'Yotes will be 23 M $ away from the cap floor. Attracting UFA 's, considering the circumstances around Arizona's team, is gonna be thougher than winning a first round as the Maples Leafs ( low-hanging fruit :) ) . Like Elliotte Friedman said in his podcast , Weber's contract is worth over 30 M $ over 4 years but he is only owed 6 M$ in real money over those 4 years.

      Is there an offensive player of the Habs , that might do it instead of Drouin at the TDL?

      To be frank, I saw that the habs were "helping" a team retain cap and were only getting a 5th/6th rounder in return and just stopped there. It doesn't make any sense to me

      If you look at last year's TDL the shark's made such a retention in a 3-way trade. They didn't gain that much more.

      No from Boston. The injury to Zboril is irrelevant. It was months ago. They have 4 mediocre LD already, adding another one does nothing.

      They need and LD1 like Lindholm or none at all. And they need an physical RD3.

      And Lohrei for a mediocre rental is just never going to be an option.

      Well Detroit got a 4th in the Savard deal
      San Jose a 4th in the Foligno deal
      The value is good in my mind with the 2 picks

      1. 4th + 5th for Giroux retention maybe. 4th is in the range of $1.25M retention. 5th should be enough for the rest (or a low end prospect).

      3. Kravtsov for a 2nd, sure.
      Garand for Kulak doesn't make sense. No need for a middling goalie prospect.
      Berard is not near enough for Lehkonen.

      4. Chiarot to Boston for a LHD doesn't make sense. Not a want or a need. Even without considering rivalry and fit.

      5. Idea and return is "okay", but nothing to jump at. Allen needs to be back in action first regardless.

      6. I personally think it's worth a 2nd to Arizona for Weber's contract. If it were my money and I had that many 2nd rounders, I'd do it.
      I think the cost is actually lower however. Weber's contract isn't a factor right now, but the opportunity to move it before it gets in the way might be more important than getting return value.
      You have to consider his $8M eating up the majority of the 10% off season cushion.

      7. Pretty meh return for Petry. Last resort is to move him for a shorter term contract. I'd keep him before moving him for that little, but this is at least something to consider if he absolutely has to be moved.

      8. No way. Not doing Toronto any favors and the last thing we need is another expensive goalie with term.

      9. Not bad, but retention might be required. I'd settle for Allard and a conditional 3rd (Drouin games played).

      10. Can't see Gourde being a consideration unless it's for Dvorak. Seattle will also want a piece with more high end potential, none of the 2nd, Poehling, or Armia qualify.

      To me trading a player with so much hype as Berard for anything unless it is outrageous is a bad move for NY.
