Yep totally get it, but Pinto is who I'd want to target from Ottowa if they're trading Fiala. Otherwise, like I posted above, the popular 2022 1st/Jarventie trade idea.

Think it would have to be 1st and Jarventie over Pinto and a 2nd since the Sens org is apparently very high on Pinto. Which is fine if a center is what you're after, there's a ton of good center prospects in the top 12 this year and given Brackett's extensive draft history I'd be very confident with his selection.

Overall pretty realistic, though I'm not sure if Fleury will play after this season. And if we somehow did manage to trade for Pinto, he would definitely be playing in the middle 6. Hartman probably moves back to wing to make room

If I'm OTT I'd hesitate trading first rounders until they actually compete for a playoff spot. Otherwise a trade like this could very easily backfire. See Blackhawks and the Jones trade for example.

I'd argue this is a full value exchange for Fiala, which is unlikely to happen as the guy is likely going to be moved as a RFA.

Very good points on the ott trade.
Whether its true or not, supposedly Fleury wants another season and I'd like to think he can be better than he has been with Chicago. If the Wild did trade Talbot somewhere, I'm not sure I'd trust Kaapo yet to have a fulltime role. Sure hope I'm wrong and he's a very capable starter who could be the bridge before Wallstedt. It would be a lot easier if Kaapo could be the starter and just fill in with a 1 year 1 million dollar goalie to back him up.

The “problem” the Sens have is that Batherson is on a pretty great deal for 5 seasons after this one so their window is based roughly around his contract with the current group. You could argue that a pick outside the top 5 could step in and play next season but more than likely 3-5 years before they are actually producing at an NHL level. So in my opinion grabbing Fiala a proven top 6RW to play alongside Stutzle on the 2nd line is probably one of best uses of their first round pick.

Perhaps. Still I wouldn't pay max value given the circumstances they're in. Wild is in trouble, so in theory they can use that to their advantage.

Personally I don't like that trade either, I think that no player unless it's a superstar is worth a top ten pick and Fiala is good but not a superstar, then adding in a top prospect on that is too much. I think that they'll rather wait till he inevitably walks to unrestricted free agency with another short term deal or get another player to better compliment Stutzle and others like Andrei Kuzmenko who if allowed and able to come over would be a low risk/ high reward play that worked out really well with Zub.

Not if you get Danila Yurov who is already playing in the KHL and is right around where the Sens are supposed to draft, also a RW too which is insane. I think that if anything happens with Fiala, it happens after the draft.

I also think it depends on what happens with Kuzmenko they were rumoured to be on of his main suitors earlier in the season. If they sign him I wouldn’t be surprised if they chose to draft instead of trading.

Agreed, that is if they are able to bring him over, same with Danila Yurov.
