I remember being very vocal during the 2020 offseason about how TOR should OS Cernak or make a trade for Weegar. Now they are stuck with a healthy scratch at 2M.

Offer sheets happen so very little, and you’re forgetting that you also need the player to sign it - who knows if Cernak wanted to sign in Toronto or not.

And Dubas did go after Weegar but the reported ask was far too much at the time. Florida asked for Andreas Johnsson, Travis Dermott, and a pick for Weegar who was still moderately unproven at the time. Johnsson was coming off of an injury plagued season but had a 20 goal season with other good elements to his game, Dermott has always showed promise (hasn’t lived up to it but that wasn’t known back then). There’s no way of knowing that if that trade happens if Weegar turns out the way he is, or if Johnsson and Dermott end up the way they are.

Cernak and Muzzin would be total lockdown and that top line would be so nasty so much skill and creativity and Hartman is an amazing 3rd line centre good job dude

Honestly I would put Mayfield instead of Cermak imo. But not bad.
I would switch mikheyev to hagel and put kerfoot at center tbh.

I always felt the Leafs were far too committed to Holl. You don't give a guy a 3 year contract based on a 15 game sample size. Especially with the guys available at free agency.
