Hmmm. I find it intriguing from a Jets perspective.. How much of an upgrade is Carlo over DeMelo? (This is not a rhetorical question, I have not seen enough of Carlo to know).
Lysell is obviously a great prospect and a first round pick is always nice.
The middle of the ice for WPG may be of a concern afterwards, but I like the idea.

The answer massive. Massive massive massive. Carlo is the bruins #2. Demelo is a 5 or 6.

Scheifele would be an amazing fit in Boston they would be so scary with him maybe swap Carlo for debrusk and then add abit more cause carlo is very valueable. You would be filling a whole just to create a new one

1st and lysell is fine. This board has gone bananas with the trade valuation of players in their late 20s with a year, or 1.5 years left on their contract.

Lysell,Debrusk and a 1st for scheifele retained would be a nice deal for Boston IMO but I agree they can’t afford to lose Carlo

Probably, over time. But I think he's a few years away from being a full time NHL top 6 centre. He's got to work on his skating quite a bit. I would guess that eventually he will though

He wouldn't be "amazing fit". He plays zero defense while the Bruins are a top defensive-minded team in the league and all their forwards are required to be responsible defensively. If he was at least below-average, that would be a start.

I appreciate this offer. It does check a number of boxes as a right shot winger with top 6 upside and a top 4 RHD with term are in there and so is a 1st round pick.

The Jets could surely do worse than this so I say maybe. I don't hate it, but I don't love it either as I dont think Carlo is really a top pair defender the pick is a pick and I'd need to research Lysell some more. We'd need to make an additional trade to move out a Dman or 2 to make this work so it may come down to what those associated trades could bring back.

What about point per game centers with 2.5 years left on their contract? As a pure rental you could get a late first, top prospect and roster player as top line Cs aren't typically available. Why would the Jets settle for a late first and a wing prospect now when they could get the same thing in 2 years?

100% this. Not sure why Bruins fans are expecting to get a PPG #1 centre for pennies on the dollar? Value-wise, trade isn't too far off. With that being said, I don't think the trade would make sense for either side as it would leave the Bruins and Jets with major holes to fill.

The Jets aren't trading Scheifele where the main pieces coming back are a 2nd pairing defenseman and a winger prospect.

If the Jets move Scheifele it will be for things they need like a young defenseman with top pairing potential or a young center with 1C potential.

Wingers and 2nd pairing defenseman are infinitely easier to find than PPG 1C's on team friendly contracts.
