This deals are very easily no. We don't need Wingers at all... so respectfully we aren't trading a 2nd round pick or anything for a Winger. The 2nd deal, both teams say no; more so Rangers

Rangers acquire 3rd line RW that they have to throw money at for one of the better defensive prospects and a wildcard forward

Ottawa parts with C. Brown which is almost always not going to happen if you ask Ottawa fans

For some reason, other teams fans keep trading Winger to a team that is stacked like wild..don't even know if this proposal not done by wild fan is serious or not

At this point, I feel like people like to troll more than they like to make trades that are fun to discuss

Take out Calen Addison and the Brown deal isn't bad.

New York would definitely decline that. Argue about value if you like but it's really quite simple: they aren't gonna be swimming in cap

That's also too much for Brown and there's minimal need for him anyways

That's a good offer but yeah I really hope Ottawa extend Connor Brown. Very rare kind of player, Sens need more vets like him, not less.

And if the goal is to make the playoffs, they have to extend him, not trade him for "futures", which is just keeping the rebuild alive.

Without Addison, Ottawa doesn't consider it. They'd get better offers from many other teams.

If Brown was available (which I doubt), Wild wouldn't get him because there's many teams that NEED him much more than they do.

Not sure how much better it's going to get, but more power to you if you think so. Won't be from Minnesota that you get those offers though. Middle six winger isn't at the top of our list for team needs.

Don't worry, I am pretty used to these erroneous answers. I could almost dictate them without looking lol. But I am here to educate people on hockey. Connor Brown is NOT a "Middle six winger". If you choose to stay ignorant, "more power to you"

For a Connor Brown return, you are looking at a Blake Coleman return. @sensonfire (who is a very active member on CF) has tried to explain it several times :

https://www.capfriendly.com/forums/thread/518178

Some facts (that I routinely just copy/paste) :

Brown has scored 100 pts (43 goals) in 156 games with Ottawa, 0.64 PPG, 53 pts per 82 games. Only 97 NHL forwards have produced more points since 2019-20. Over that period, that's a similar production to Martin Necas, William Karlsson, Pierre-Luc Dubois... So right away, this is not "average production", it's excellent 2nd line production.

But that's the thing, his role is not that of top-6 forward. He doesn't get PP time like a top-6 forward, he is not deployed in the offensive zone to provide offense. He doesn't only play with other top-6 forwards. His main linemate, Nick Paul, is clearly not one. What is confusing is that due to a lack of depth as a rebuilding team and with injuries, he had to fill holes on the wing a bit all over the lineup and since he's the coach favorite player, he is used in a lot of situations.

Another very strong indicator, 78% of his production is at Even Strength and 9% on the PK, only 13% on the PP. In comparison, an elite player like McDavid scores 40% of his production on the PP. For most top-6 forwards 20-30% of their production comes from the PP

Connor Brown also faces the other team top forwards on a consistent basis, he is the most utilized forward on the PK in the whole league. He was 2nd in takeaways last season (behind only THE king Mark Stone) and was voted 17th for the Selke.

This is a lot of words but what you just described is a middle six forward

Let's now hear your comparisons.

And by the way, 0.64 PPG is not middle six forward at all. Like I said, 97 NHL forwards had produced more points since 2019-20. There was 31 teams... Can I let you do the math? I mean, it tells you that it's high 2nd line production

That's why discussions like this are a bit ridiculous (like I said very used to it so no worries).

Another way to look at it, Connor Brown is not even deployed as an offensive forward, but there's only 24 RWs who scored more points since last season :

https://www.nhl.com/stats/skaters?reportType=season&seasonFrom=20202021&seasonTo=20212022&gameType=2&position=R&filter=gamesPlayed,gte,1&sort=points,goals,assists&page=0&pageSize=50

He's an elite 2-way winger. That's why he's the most used PK forward in the NHL, that's why he was voted 17th for the Selke last year despite not being a "big name", that's why he was 2nd in takeaways last season, last why his coach uses him a lot in a lot of situations as he has a high impact. He does all that, while being among the best ES+PK point producing wingers. That's extremely valuable.
