Mayfield is literally the only thing the leafs would want here, every other piece is redundant at best or harmful at worst.
Robertson for Risto? Really? The leafs would be better having Nick Ritchie at 2RD than Risto.

As for the Nash deal, yes it’s good to dump off Ritchie but not at the cost of Engvall he’s been great for the bottom 6, on pace for nearly 30 points and has been very solid defensively. Don’t need Chara and Mayfield is alright but not great tbh

I wouldn't move a Defenceman off the roster at all. If you aren't getting a clear cut improvement over Holl (Severson or Klingberg) then just grab a guy like Braun to fight for that last spot and then we never have to see Biega of Dahlstrom ever again.

im ok with moving Dermott if a guy like Mayfield comes in, but that's about as high up the roster chain i go.

I should explain the Risto deal. I think he makes too much currently, and he will take a pay cut next year. He is big, physical and I think could be resigned for 3.5-4M for a couple years and round out the leafs top 4 for a couple years... ONLY IF HE FITS IN... nobody has fit in philly... and he was in BUF before that... so i'd be willing to take a chance, add him. I am wondering if people think that deal is too rich? or not enough. Holl is a good D at his price, but hes not a top 4... and Philly needs to go scorched earth I believe.

And I know Riley Nash isn't a great add, but he was coming off of injury, and i feel to take Ritchie, you would have to include something else. anyways. Great threads and love the dialogue. Should be an interesting dealine.

I was saying to trade Dermott last year while people were trying to figure out his cieling... i'm not always right, but i think you could have gotten great value back but now he is clearly a bottom pairing guy and his value is down... I think Robertson is a flashy 3rd liner in the league = Kappanen, or Johnsson, but people might still buy him as a potential top 6
