Why do we need Soucy

Well in the off season I was told TK's value was no less than Nylander 1-for (and that I am a stupid Leafs homer for daring to suggest otherwise), and obviously since this site is never wildly wrong on that stuff I imagine it will cost a great amount!

thought he could be a upgrade to slide in for when brown and mete are likely (hopefully) gone next year. was more an offseason trade than anything

Konecny on the Sens would be nuts

formenton-stutzle-konecny would be such an annoying line to come up against

Don't really see the Sens having a package that'd convince Philly to move TK, the ask would most likely be a young player 1-for-1

In the 2 seasons prior to this past offseason:
Nylander: 119GP 101 points
Konecny: 116GP 95 points

Konecny is also younger, more physical and on a cheaper contract. It wouldn't have been insane at all heading into this season that it'd have been a fair 1-for-1

Well other than the fact that Nylander is just straight up better at everything, both before and since; sure!
But no, not really.

It is funny though how your comp just so happens to include the one and only season where TK was even remotely close to WN production wise (while cutting off more data that goes against your point), as if it were nearly as consistent as Nylander from day 1. You're manipulating the data in your favour. Stop it, WN >>> TK, always was, always will be. Just because you are biased in his favour doesn't change that or close the gap.

You realize if I include 1 more season before that (where Koencny was still on his ELC and 21 years old) it would actually put the production numbers in his favor? Not to mention just completely disregarding the other points I mentioned.

But yes, "Nylander is straight up better at everything" when there is clear evidence that that isn't fully the caseqnd without seeing a shred of irony in saying anyone who disagrees is a Homer and stupid.

your argument cannot really be to add the year from the holdout can it?
Nylander has been at WORST a 60 point player, with extremely strong metrics and has been scoring at a 40 goal rate for a while now (damn covid).
Everything points to him being considerably stronger than TK all around.

And don't get me wrong, I like TK, but the gap is like you're comparing Brayden Schenn to Claude Giroux here bud. Just no.

Honestly both Soucy and Konecny are having down years so hopefully not anything astronomical but I don’t really see a need for Soucy with Chabot, Sandy, Branny and Holden next year.
