its so tough to make alot of moves, really has to be money in and same money out. take out Schenn, and move Foote for a better RHD at 50% retained. give NJ a mid round pick for retaining on Crouse. maybe even go big and move Foote and a prospect for Brassard and a dman on Philly like Braun and keep Bogo on LTIR since i dont see him playing again till playoffs
Tampa won’t get a better dman(at least not one they can re-sign, for Foote+1st, plus anybody that strong would require more gymnastics to make the cap work, even with double retention). Braun I think could be had for a 3rd and maybe a later pick w/full retention. If they get Crouse, there’s really no room/need for Brassard(although he is a good face off guy). There was some noise around Schenn, and he knows Tampa’s system well plus has an extra year. For 383k in retention on Crouse, it would be a late pick, and the above deal was something I had been discussing with a NJ fan, who proposed Foote for a 2nd, one of Zetterlund or McCarthy, and NJ retained on Crouse. McCarthy would be okay in place of Zetterlund, but he is still in college and further off probably than the F. For next year, Tampa would still have Schenn, hopefully extend Crouse, and keep their 1st. Tampa would also have a solid bottom/middle 6 guy possibly in Zetterlund, and then the year after(if not sooner), Jack Thompson should be ready to be a starter at RD. As for Bogo, despite his oft injured status, his current injury is only a 2-3 week issue from what I read, so he should be gtg sometime during the upcoming break. Unfortunately, because he is so often banged up, that’s why I think getting a Braun or Schenn would be solid, since after Tampa’s top 6, it’s a decent drop in quality, especially against good teams in the playoffs. Lyubushkin from Arizona is another target I’ve tried to work in on some arms.
