Strome hasnt really had great results on the wing, and putting him as your 1LW over Bunting tells me you havent watched a Leafs game at all this season

I'd prefer to trade for a DFD. From seattle I'd take Larsson and hopefully pay a cheaper price

Ritchie is going to cost a second just to get rid of his contract, so I don't see much in that trade for Chicago,. The Leafs shouldn't be giving up young assets for a position of strength.....LHD.

Strome has done nothing to earn a chance on the top line, and Bunting has done everything to prove that is where he belongs

Why do people think Ritch is going to cost so much to move? There is no evidence that guys at his pay grade are expensive to dump of at all. Like the worst case scenario to move him is a 3rd or something, and it is more likely to be Eamon McAdam in return.

I hope you're right. But in a cap strapped league, there are going to be a lot more sellers (teams with no cap) than buyers (teams with cap)

Strome is a better fit at center you’d know that if you watched any Blackhawks games

Larsson is the absolute worst defenceman on the planet for TO's system. "Defensive defenceman" aren't really a thing anymore. You look at good defensive teams and guys like Larsson are never their top defenders. Who goes out against top competition for Carolina? Slavin. Tampa? Hedman. Florida sends out Ekblad. Etc etc. It's never the Larsson's, they get caved in by top competition because they never have the puck and never get the puck. There is a reason why top defenceman never block a pile of shots. They get the puck back and turn it up ice. Control the play and dictate the game.

This is why I actually think Klingberg would be sick in TO. Paired with Muzzin who's responsible but not very fast, I think they would be nuts at getting the puck back and getting it out of trouble. Larsson would just stand in front of the net while the opposition blasted away at Campbell.

Arizona may need to add guys just to reach the floor next year. It won't be that hard to move 2.5 million.

He's a better fit a depth forward on a bad team. He wouldn't make the Leafs

Where? He isn't taking any of the much better defensively 3rd liners. He's too slow to play on the 4th line and wouldn't take Simmonds or Spezza's spots anyways. So where would he play? No where. He's a okay player on a bad team. TO isn't a bad team, they are a very good and deep team. Strome wouldn't make the team.

think my statement got lost in translation. I don't really think Larsson is enough of an upgrade on Holl to spend picks and cap, but my point was that a more stay at home defenceman for a cheaper price as our 4th D would be ideal. Not saying your #1D should be pure defensive but most elite teams have a couple big shutdown guys on the backend. And a modern stay at home defenceman should still be able to play in transition and turn it up ice.

I stand by my statement, "stay at home defensive defenceman" aren't what they used to be. Two way possession defenceman are the true "defensive defenceman" now. Preferably ones strong enough to clear the front of the net as well. If you can carry the puck, pas the puck, stop zone entries or gain possession (all things the Larsson's of the world are bad at) you are not worth the roster spot.
