Charlie Coyle has an NMC. He is not waiving it to leave the team he grew up dreaming of playing to go to Buffalo.

They could always put pressure in waiving his NMC.
    Canucks did it with Schmidt.

Schmidt would be reunited with Krebs and Tuch.

Cool, except you don’t have Schmidt going to Buffalo, you have Coyle going there. Who is not waiving to leave Boston to go to Buffalo. It’s a poorly thought out concept.

    Lol.

Schmidt wanted out of Vancouver, asked for a trade, he just did not want to go to Winnipeg. They basically told him it was there or nothing.

Coyle does not want out nor does Boston want to move him.

Boston needs a proper second line centre. They traded for Coyle hoping he would develop into that, but he hasn't. 14 points in 26 games is not good enough, especially when you're linemates with Hall. And 5 mill to be a third line centre is too much.

They do, but Coyle was not brought in to be a C2, they traded for him because he was right hand shot that could play RW or C on the middle 6.

And if they make a trade for a C2 they won’t be using Coyle to do it. They still need him.

Boston needs to offload someone to stay within cap regulations then. And if you're saying, don't make the trade, Boston is a 1 line team right now, they need the bottom 9 to perform, and trading assets seems the most logical way for that to happen.

They have lots of candidates to move, the one with the NMC that’s actually producing is not going to be one of them.

Why in the hell would Buffalo give up the better, younger Center who is also significantly cheaper? You didn’t think that through at all.

I assume Buffalo signs Giroux in the offseason to be 1C
Coyle is becoming a veteran centre who would help develop Quinn and is definitely better than Thompson.

Both Highmore and Chiasson are more valuable to the Canucks than MacEwan. MacEwan hasn't done much for Philly. Highmore isn't going to even be considered for trade talks until he's healthy again, and I don't see the Nucks just giving him up for free without giving him a fair shot considering they traded Gaudette to get him

MacEwan got placed on waivers by a coach who isn't even there anymore.
Just the fact that he's a young, fourth line grinder shows his worth.

Are you really defending Chiasson's spot?

Agree, both Coyle and Hayes are overpaid 3C's, and a 2nd will not be enough for Boston to take it. Besides, Coyle has intangibles Hayes doesn't.

Not a chance in hell that Buffalo trades a guy they’ve spent years developing into a good young player for a Vet who DOESN’T FIT THEIR REBUILD TIMELINE
And who very likely wouldn’t waive to come here

And why would the Bruins wanna dump a guy- who they just signed to a long term deal- who’s playing well ??

No part of that trade makes any sense
    Try again dude
Bc Buffalo AND Boston just laugh at this proposal

Assuming that any decent player would waive to come to the Sabres- or sign here- any time soon is just nuts
Not when they have options to play for teams much closer to winning
    We just aren’t there yet
