1.75 million over 4 years is worse than 3 million for 1 year. Especially for a team like seattle who will look to improve over the next 3-4 years.
I just don’t think it makes a lot of sense from seattles standpoint. But also probably too much to give up on wpgs side.
Also is PLD the #1 C now? I think he’s the main piece going forward.
Tanev would totally be worth it. I figured it would be another pick or prospect, but I believe Picks would be more valuable to Seattle. So there could be a strong possibility Seattle might listen to ideas on this matter, if there are good valuable picks for them to move forward with. This also realistically fits, so there is a possibility. So the negotiating begins.
I was thinking of putting a 2023 4th instead of the 5th. So there would be a 1st, 2nd and 2023 4th and Toninato for Tanev at $1,750,000, and Appleton. Or Adding another 5th or 4th pick. So that one would be a 1st, 2nd and 5th and 4th/5th for Tanev at $1,750,000 and Appleton. These are obviously just suggestions for a middle ground and both teams would negotiate, but negotiating to getting Tanev at $1,750,000 for a few years would totally be worth it. GOOD PICKS for Seattle would be worth it.
Jets have their team set for the next few years with most of the Cap about to be signed and locked up, good top prospects ready, they could give up a few good future picks to negotiate with Seattle for a beneficial Trade for both teams.
People tryna downplay Tanev's game don't understand how underrated his 2 way game is, with the limited time he gets. He has a Career 88.3% PK, only 2 teams in the NHL are over that this year(Penguins and Hurricanes), and the other teams are 85.7% PK and under. On a struggling Jets Penalty teams at 70.6%, Tanev would help make the Jets a better team in all aspects of the game. Tanev also has a Career 93.1% oiSv% 5on5. In 325 Games he has 1082 hits with a Career Average 13.29 Ice time. Tanev gets SH Goals and Points too.
Tanev developed a lot with the Jets players, he understands the Jets player and their systems, he has a very good consistent game and would help make the Jets better. Appleton understands the Jets players and their systems too, was a huge part of the team last year too, also with a weaker Defense. Getting both Tanev and Appleton back would bring some strong familiarity and chemistry. It would boost the teams morale and overall help make the Jets a stronger team.
THIS is a very good idea that could realistically happen. Also for Dubois, if he can improve on his 42.7 FO%. Then yeah for sure, he could get more Faceoffs and more ice time during in game scenarios. I love Dubois, I've made many Trades on here with Laine and Roslovic for Dubois. I knew Dubois would be very good for the Jets. Like that was a good realistic possiblity, so is this trade. This would be a trade well worth negotiating.
As for the other comment regarding Sens and Jets Trade, yes there is a strong mutual friendship building that could be agreed upon, with Future Considerations included... Not much risk to pay for with going forward. Without Trading Beaulieu there is no room for 22 players, even with maximizing the retained amounts and getting Tanev at $1,750,000 and Appleton at $729,000. This is a powerful trade that is worth negotiating to make things happen.
