Just curious — why target Eller when you already have Suter? I feel like both players fill that 3C role for this team next season, as I’d hope for them to sign a top 6 center in the off-season if possible. Trade deadline bait for next season? Sooner? Not a complaint, just a question lol

Wanted to both make the cap work and keep the team looking similarly competitive. What I would do with Suter is move him to the 3LW next to Eller and the unnamed free agent 2C takes his spot. Forward lines would probably end up something like this:

Bertuzzi - Larkin - Raymond
Vrana - FA 2C - Zadina
Suter - Eller - Berggren
Gagner/Smith - Rasmussen - Erne

when the team is fully healthy he'd likely become a healthy scratch tho. him or zucker at this point tbh. maybe detroit takes zucker then flips him for more assets🤷‍♀️. just not sure how vlad would fit in with the healthy team

I dig it, Ras may be our only good young center aside from Veleno, but I'd be willing to strike a deal if it meant giving us a young top 4 option and a reliable backup. Vegas probably wouldn't want to do it, but a Hague offer sheet is quite the negotiation tactic.

Depending on his asking price too— might be worth it to get a young, cost-controlled forward with size back and restock some draft picks while moving out potentially $6m-ish in cap space in the process (which they’ll have to do one way or another). Would hurt to lose Hague though. I wonder if there is a more offensively gifted player they could get from another team though. I love the idea of Hague in DET though.

Yeah, Hague just feels like the perfect fit for the Wings, I could see him playing well in whichever pairing he gets placed in. Sucks that Vegas will have to lose so much talent to stay under the cap, but it's kinda their fault they traded for a 10 million dollar player while only shedding half of the cap needed to break even.

Yes, but Vlad is a better offensive player than ZAR while still having great defensive impacts and penalty killing ability. In an ideal scenario they could get rid of Zucker and bring in Vlad.
