Arizona considers Chychrun a cornerstone, and he's on a great contract.

It's one thing if "your best offensive prospect and a 1st" is all that you would give up as a GM, but Arizona is only going to deal him if they're blown away by multiple firsts and 1-2 excellent prospects.

Joel Edmundson, the dude that hasn't played in 5 months (and doesn't seem very likely to play in the next month), will get a 1st AND a valuable roster player AND a prospect?

I wouldn't hold your breath getting that from the Blues, especially from the team that reduced his ice time and made him a healthy scratch in the 2019 SCF on top of taking him to arbitration.

I signed them because I wasn't 100% comfortable with someone like Kyrou or Kostin being a healthy scratch, whereas I don't care if Clifford only averages 7 minutes a game for the 15 games he plays. And they don't represent a huge financial investment, so it's not like removing them from the equation suddenly means we have a ton of cash to upgrade somewhere.

It's an interesting exercise. If we don't get Schenn (and move Lehtera), that means we don't sign Bozak either. And while Sanford probably tops out as a bottom-6 guy, he was so good in the SCF. Does somebody like Jaskin provide the same impact? Probably not.

I think you're probably right that the Sharks get a Cup with Oshie and Shattenkirk.

I've heard the same things. And I agree with you, I think Columbus is just good enough to either miss the playoffs late in the season or get eliminated in the first round. It doesn't make sense to me if they actually stick to their guns on this.
