Forgot to say, I would technically have Cozens as centre, but Eakin is way better than him at faceoffs and is the best at faceoffs in the team.

I think with 17mil in cap space and lots of prospects who wont get the playing/development time, they'll deal or pick up a UFA top 2 line center for at least a few years.

Say don't re-sign Eakin, leaves you with about 20 mil in cap space, make a play for Giroux, Kadri, Hertl or Fiala for say 6 mil.

Also, Ruhwedel is purely a 7th-8th dman, theres a lot of RD on the UFA market: Manson, Risto (!), Klingberg, etc... who are solid minute eating vets that can help the kids.

Me? I dont sign Eakin and Ruhwedel.

I sign Kadri for 5mil and Manson for 4mil, leaves over 10 mil in cap space, but those are two tough vets, who play hard and both produce aptly and eat minutes. (Im not saying manson scores 35+ pts, but he can play 20 minutes a night and tutor Power, I'm not saying Kadri becomes a ppg player, but to be the number 1 center and get 60+ pts...Both will physically defend the younger guys and not reliant on the young guys to do their jobs.

You dont want Power to carry Manson on that pairing and you certainly dont want Cozens trying to carry Eakin and help him produce, thats like blood out of a stone.

Why on this green earth would the Canes, first of all, trade Pesce, and second of all, for so little? We would be starting with Krebs and/or Dahlin, and that would only be the first piece. You are going to have to pay more than a king’s ransom to even make Carolina consider trading Pesce.
