Any life in JvR's game? Any chance he can rebound to form...or would this be more of a vet-for-the-kids type of move?

So what if Coots just signed, his contract doesn't kick in until next year.

I mean, all the Flyers right now are just completely shot confidence wise. A new location could help him out. And really, what is the risk? $3.5 mil for a 3rd for 1 more year is no risk at all.

The last thing the Habs should be doing is buying players. They need a rebuild more than the FLyers.

Bruins would have no interest in Courturier's never ending new contract.
Wings keep their cap space and spend it elsewhere than Pronovov and they keep those draft picks
Leafs can't afford the trade and don't think they want to, If effect two first rounders for Giroux.
That's way to high a price for difference between Konecky and Lucic, all those picks

I'd probably do it. A big missing link on our PP has been a big-body-good-hands type in front of the net to tip shots, clean up rebounds, screen goalie.
At a minimum, he could show Nolan Foote how its done.

Anything more would be gravy.

I disagree on every comment.

Bruins get a Bergeron replacement.
Wings get a top pairing D man who can move down to 2nd pairing once Edvinsson comes along
Leafs can afford that as the cap isn't exactly as it looks come TDL time. Leafs gave up a 1st plus a couple 4ths for Foligno. Giroux is >>>> Foligno. Dermott and Mik are spare parts to the Leafs. Or feel free to keep running out Kerfoot in the top 6 and hope to get by the 1st round.
And you think TK doesn't garner at least a 1st and 2nd on his own? So a 3rd to take Lucic's contract. That is a big upgrade for the Flames.

He did just have a cereer year last year. At 3.5 there is really no risk, throw him on a line with Hughes and see what happens.

What were you thinking? I don't see MTL as having many good assets the Flyers would want.

Can't see the non contending Wings giving a lottery pick this season and more for three full years of Provo. With so many teams cap strapped the Wings will be good UFA value with the Provo money and they can keep their picks.
Mikheyev might be spare part, but Dermot isn't, Teams need seven or eight NHL Dmen to get through the season. So the debate is whether the Leafs or any team would pay two first picks for Girewox
Lucic has been OK with year Flames with his 7 goals and 9 points. Konecky and is 5 goals and 10 points isn't an improvement over Lucic this year, I imagine the first place Flames wouldn't want to upset their chemistry.

Comparing TK to Lucic based off of points this year is kind of dumb and I think you would agree with me in that case. TK is entering his prime but is currently on a team where every single player is under performing. As for the Wings, they can't be in a constant lottery position forever. At some point in time they will actually have to start pushing for playoff spots. Provorov gives that a solid boost. Dermot is a 3rd pairing D man but the upgrade you get to the top 6 is much larger, imo, than the loss of Dermott. If you can't handle bringing in a good forward and losing a fringe guy like Dermot, then the Leafs TDL is gonna be non-existent.
