I think a lot of people underestimate Calgary and Vancouver, and I agree with a number of pundits who have suggested that the Kings may surprise a lot of people this season. At this point, I don't think those teams will end the regular season with more points than the Oilers. Lots of factors that might change that though; quality of officiating and the health of core players in Edmonton being the most obvious.

Those are pretty conservative numbers for McDavid and Draisaitl. McDavid has averaged 1.61 points per game over the past 3 seasons combined. He would have to drop to 1.43 to only score 118 points this year. He'd have to have his lowest points per game since 2017-18 to only put up 118. I think that's pretty unrealistic since he has better wingers now than he did before

If Hyman is the best addition in your eyes
Whose do you think will be the worst addition?

Early guess for me is a tie between Keith and Ceci

I had them 2nd last year and they very much underperformed. They're roughly the same up front and in net but have gotten worse on the blue line. I'm not expecting a big step forward for Calgary, they'll be in around that WC fight. Vancouver and Seattle are the 2 teams in my mind that could really surprise. Seattle has a very good back end, if they get sufficient scoring support they could have a good season. Similar to the Oilers, Vancouver has a very good forward group so as long as the back-end holds together should be a playoff team.

Nuge, Barrie and Hyman are low too, and of course the implication is that all others are below 49 points. If Puljujarvi is the "breakout" player you'd think that he'd be over 50 (he was at nearly 40 point pace last season). It could be that ALL of Edmonton's top offensive player take a big step back this year, but there's no logical reason to believe that it'll happen.
