Cooper Marody a signé un contrat de 1 ans d'une valeur de 750 000 $ avec les Oilers d'Edmonton, le 11 sept. 2021. Le contrat comporte un cap hit de 750 000 $.
I like that there's going to be some considerable competition for the Oilers' fourth line. Benson, Marody, Perlini, Shore, and Turris are all competing for 3 spots.
Oilers fans keep penciling in Shore as the designated scratch or even #4LW on his PK merit alone. Wonder if his spot all of a sudden isn't guaranteed. Part of me wonders if Kassian gets waived to start the year too.

Can't see Shore making the lineup on PK alone now that Ryan, Hyman, McLeod, Foegele, Archibald, and RNH can all kill penalties and all offer more in other areas.
Edmonton stalwart @CD282 called this one on August 25.

Haha, thanks! I probably read it somewhere else though... the contract just makes so much sense for Marody. It gives him the best possible chance of making the cap strapped Oilers roster, and if he doesn't it gives him the best possible chance to get picked up off waivers.
He'll be 25 in a few months, this is his 'last chance Texaco' and he knows it. Hope he makes it.
