Description
i'd NEVER trade him BUT
I've been seeing a Gallagher trades pop up for Cap Dumps all 31 teams outside STL passed on.
Way i see it is IF Gally goes he's best suited in a deal with WPG or LAK as they have the talent and need to make it work for all

I'm Choosing LAK because of Danault-Gallagher reunion behind Kopitar gives them great odds at a Cup.

On the Flip side Nick Suzuki skipped his Interviews and press meetings until the draft was over to sit with his close friend and highly skilled RD Sean Durzi Until someone took him in the 2nd round so i think that could be a very fruitful reunion that also address's our biggest hole on RD

Brown(cap dump for better picks but deal can be reworked without him and fit under cap)
Durzi
Lemieux
1st round pick -top 10 protected
3rd round pick Conditional - If LAK make Conference finals it becomes a 2nd
If LAK win the cup its a 1st round pick

Gallagher is on a sweet deal and is a Clutch net front Goal Scorer which has Value to most teams but i think LAK makes sense as their RW doesnt have a player like him(or left wing really )

MTL upside is Brown keeps MTL still competitive for a year while Teasdale finishes up in Laval(close but needs maybe a year). Beyond that those picks even at 15th -32nd OA still could get us another Caufield or Ghule at best which is worth the gamble and wait. Durzi is a good bottom 4 D Pair option to grow into a responsible #3 D if we're lucky maybe more
Transactions
MTL
  1. Brown, Dustin
  2. Durzi, Sean
  3. Lemieux, Brendan
  4. Choix de 1e ronde en 2022 (LAK)
  5. Choix de 3e ronde en 2023 (LAK)
Détails additionnels:
Conditional 3rd :If LAK completes either before 2023 draft
If LAK make conference finals it upgrades to a 2nd in 2023
If LAK Wins SC then this picks becomes a 1st in 2023 (top 10 protected)
LAK
  1. Gallagher, Brendan
Détails additionnels:
Brown keeps MTL in the playoff picture by adding a Grit Goal Scorer with a championship Pedigree to offer what Perry did for MTL more or less (Perry had a big impact on Suzuki and Caufield)

Durzi is a RD we could call up now as he's better then Wideman
But if we leave him in another Season i think he'll have a more
Complete game overall as he's more offensive then Defensive currently(just needs seasoning )

Lemieux makes sense as we do need a fighter
He hits a lot and adds a spark when needed
Good 12th/13th forward for MTL

The picks i gotta assume are going to be at best 15th-22nd in this scenario with Gallagher joining . That said both are top 10 protected picks for LAK lowering their risk while still upgrading the picks MTL woulda got (partly for taking Brown in this scenario)

What's up with everyone trading Gallagher? Shouldn't Montreal, like, not want to trade him?

As for the team, wouldn't it be interesting for LAK to replace Brown with Anderson instead?

Agreed in theory i'd rather Gally over Anderson to do this deal 100%
I was just trying to Establish Value as i see people doing Gally trades that are just ridiculous

At the bare minimum i was hoping it would motivate others making these posts to put some effort into it lol

I was just purely speculating. I think there is a fit for Anderson in LA long term as Brown's replacement. I doubt the LAK are on Anderson's M-NTC and MTL on Brown's M-NTC. I know that usually players have Canadian teams on their NTC for salary purposes, but Brown who is 36 and has made a lot of money already in his career probably has most of the teams that are unlikely to compete for a cup on his 7 team M-NTC. I'd imagine teams like Anaheim, Arizona, Buffalo, Detroit, Columbus, Ottawa and San Jose are on his list. As for Anderson, I can see how someone can be persuaded to potentially lift their M-NTC to move to LA, especially with the up and coming team they have.

As for Durzi, I don't think a front office like MTL's would target him because him and Suzuki are buddies. He is an okay prospect at this point. He is a smart puck mover but doesn't skate that well for his size while he struggles to defend. I don't think he will be ready for the NHL this season. I could potentially see him QB a 2nd power play unit in the NHL, but he has to improve his physicality and his defensive side of the game before he can be considered someone with a shot at playing in the NHL.

i agree 100% i'll probably do another post with that later on
Anderson has a 8 team NTC i suspect like Brown most of those teams would be non contenders
I think it would be a good fit for both teams and the return would give us back a 1st to bring the Galchenyuk trade tree full circle plus Durzi who i agree needs seasoning the AHL i just put him in the line up so people werent going "where's Durzi ". i expect Kulak or Wideman to play that role this year but starting next year i think that's where he'll be

I like Anderson a lot but our wings getting crowded with Ylonen in a similar position as Durzi from RW POV

I have a theory that when it takes a novel to explain how a trade makes sense, it probably doesn't make sense.

No its just lack of faith in this site's commentors that they can read and understand the Context of the Hypothetical situation
Whether you Subtly Explain or Over Explain it they miss the point

I'd never Trade Gallagher but i take offense to the trade values i've seen posted
I'm trying to say this is the Measuring stick to talk about acquiring him

Honestly i like our team in Reality i wouldnt trade anyone
But this site is for Fantasy Teams emphasis on Fantasy
With that said . . .My Fantasy team is no less absurd then your trade for Eichel
with only the 1st from the KK OS and Quantity pieces as far as Trade value not Quantity.(drouin, poehling, ylonen, mailloux)
Just saying Glass Houses

I don’t know why you feel the need to bring up one of my AGMs, but let me tell you one thing. At least on my trade only BUF fan base could objet, where here both sides say no thank you.
