1. They already said they arent moving kakko or schneider for eichel.
2. Thats an overpay. The buyers have all the leverage here. No need to go around making bad deals when they obviously cant make a deal with anyone else. Its not like theure gonna lose out on him in the middle of the night.

The Rangers are a team of untouchables.

Drury would be crazy to turn that down if that's all it took to land Eichel.

I still think we’ve got the star power in Panarin and Mika and enough complementary players to be fine without acquiring Eichel. But that’s my personal opinion.

And Jack Eichel is the greatest hockey player to ever lace up skates. 40 goal seasons...none. 90+ point seasons....none. Playoff games he has LED his team to.....none. Sub 43% faceoff guy and not great defensively, even called "lazy" at times buy BUFFALO fans. Yeah, shocking that other teams don't want to give up 4 quality pieces for him.

The rangers do not take that. Kakko may not have scored 30+ points, but he also was elite defensively, and he's clearing improving. EIchel still has not had any surgery. There is no trade until that happens. Kakko is cost controlled and healthy. Eichel is 10m and if he has the fusion may be a shell of the player he was.

A healthy eichel is a different story potentially.

I personally don't think it's an overpay. Kakko is proving not to be much and while Schneider is a good prospect, he's not really necessary with Fox and Trouba, plus they also still have Lundkvist coming up. IMO this is the type of package Buffalo should be getting.

I definitely get the apprehension about Eichel's health and that definitely changes the landscape. I think this is a fair value even for the heath concern. I think if he was healthy this package would be low.

Also, Kakko has NOT been elite defensively.

Actually kakko was elite defensively this year. It just went quiet under the radar because people expected points. He was terrible his rookie year, but not last year.

Care to provide some backup? Everything I'm looking at shows he's pretty piss poor defensively.
