Wow. I'm actually shocked at that number -- that's a very solid contract.

I preferred 3 years to avoid the Fabbro / Myers / Carrier re-signings in 2 years, so kudos Poile. I was expecting something north of $2m -- in my posts, I normally do 3 x $2.75m, so this is a fantastic price negotiated by Poile.

Really happy with this signing -- can't say enough good things about it. No risk and potential for a huge reward.

He was on pace for 23 goals and 45 points this season over 82 games. If $1.45m is an overpay for that, I'll overpay every day of the week.

Yeah, I would have guessed the only way Tolvy would sign for less than $2M would be on a one year prove-it contract. I thought Poile only robbed defensemen's agents this badly.
