His asking price ( GMBM’s price ) was a 1st and a decent prospect.

Personally I believe it is a 2nd rounder with a decent prospect plus a cap dump.

Manson 50% retained —-> Liljgeren + 2022 2nd + Mikheyv

He's drastically better than Ristolainen and slightly better than Jones and look at what they just got in return. Hell even more so he's far better than Tyson Barrie and look what he got when he was traded..

Maybe it's just you hating the Leafs that thinks his value his low because he's a proven elite puck moving defenceman that would be a #1 guy on 95% of the teams in the league whether you like it or not.

This is just not correct. He's not a #1 guy on most teams. Even on AZ he'd be #2 to Chycrun. There is NOTHING elite about his game. He had one crazy year and that's it. All his numbers point to a very good #2 guy.

For the record, I have no hatred towards the leafs. I'm honestly quite indifferent about them.

Elite offensive production. Elite PP guy. Elite goal scoring defenceman. Elite playmaker. Very good finisher.... that seems to say he's pretty elite. Yes he has his defensive flaws, but so does Seth Jones who people call a #1 defenceman so Rielly is definitely elite since he's better than Jones.

I already said I have no hatred for the Leafs. I really don't. Teams outside our division are really inconsequential to me and to be honest, I love watching Matthews play, so if anything I enjoy watching the Leafs.

Rielly is NOT elite. All his stats, both basic and advanced, point to that of a very good #2.

83% on WAR is clearly not that of a #1 dman despite playing #1 minutes. If anything, that shows he's not suited for #1.

Also, I just looked up Chycrun's WAR. He's 85% to Rielly's 83% and if you look through the numbers he's far more balanced than Rielly.

You are completely ignoring the part I pointed about being more balanced if you look at the underlying WAR numbers. It's pretty clear. Chyc is superior to Rielly in terms of defense, PK and finishing.
