IMO a realistic Price for eichel would be something like:
- KK (MTL has no need for him if they are getting Eichel and Buffalo will want a top C prospect coming back).
- Romanov / Guhle / Mailloux (Buffalo will want a 1st round D, take your pick... probably won't want Mailloux, TBH I'm not keen on trading any of these D prospects)
- Drouin (Need to offset the salary, he can play a top 6 Role for Buffalo and get flipped or resigned)
- 1st round pick.
So to answer your question one of the firsts and both the B prospects have to come out... that's the price I see for Eichel (~ 4 1st's). That said I personally have no interest in it, I believe MTL should be patient with KK, Romanov, Guhle... even Drouin can prove a lot of people wrong if given the chance.
I am a realist and your offer is insufficient.
Take out Guhle, Ylönen and Mysak and leave:
Kotkaniemi, Jesperi
Drouin, Jonathan
2022 1st round pick (MTL)
2023 1st round pick (MTL)
Just marginally acceptable and you know it.
Drouin with is 9 goals over the past two seasons and his $5.5KK salary for the next two is not an asset.
If you think he is then give me a first for Skinner and his 21 goals and $9KK salary over the past two seasons.
Let's turn the table and look at your acceptable offer.
Buffalo will give you Mittelstadt (he has a better NHL resume than KK), Girgensons (he has a lower cap hit and 3 more goals than Drouin over the past two seasons and he did not even play last year), Lawrence Pilut (he has a much better resume than any of the "C" prospects you are offering) and 2022 2nd that should be about equal to MTL 2022 first for Suzuki.
I bet you will say no, but you make the same offer for Eichel and you think Buffalo is CRAZY for turning it down.
