I have seen Montreal fans giving a player/prospects/2nd/3rd for Hertl. Maybe he's better than Strome but that much? Both in last year of contract

Montreal says keep trying, KK and Zuke will both be better than Strome and Poehling or Evans could turn out to be his equal.

Strome doesn't push either Kk or Zuke out of the top 2 spots and he isn't a defensive 3rd line center either. Therefore he isn't helping win now.

Man I wish everybody would realize the DRAFT IS IN MONTREAL IN 2022! They will be acquiring picks for that draft not trading any of theirs unless it is to move up. Any trade proposals with picks from Montreal will be 2023 or beyond

Lol Strome isnt the guy that will help us beating one of BOS, FLA or TOR for a spot…. That pick has more chances to be top 16

Even if it’s a top 16 pick it’s still worth a guy who’s gonna score 55-60 points every year… He might even resign after…He’s not my first option (Dvorak,Hertl,Schmaltz,Dylan Strome etc) but you gotta give to receive and I’m willing to pay that price for a bonafide 2C

You're asking the wrong "what if". The real questions is this.....what if Jack Eichel were actually worth 4, 1st round pieces like Adams wants? Wouldn't he have been traded by now? Why haven't the Kings jumped at the chance to give up 4, 1st rounders for him? Jack is sooooo good and worth at least 4, first rounders, ask any Buffalo fan.....so why is he still a Saber? Why hasn't Anaheim jumped at the chance to give up 4 first rounders for Jack? Why haven't the Ranger's jumped at the chance to give up 4 first rounders for him?????? Why hasn't ANY TEAM jumped at the chance to give up 4 first rounders for Jack Eichel???? The answer is......HE ISN'T WORTH THAT MUCH, EVEN WHEN HE'S HEALTHY.....AND HE'S NOT HEALTHY. Buffalo's GM is out of his mind.

That is a boat load for jack.
I seriously doubt Drury would make an offer even close to that.
More than likely it would be Strome, Chytil (or Kravtsov), Georgiev, 2022 first and second.
On the other hand this is a quiet time in the NHL and historically few trades are made now.
You also cannot say with certainty that every one of those teams HAVE NOT MADE an offer that meet those conditions and Karmanos is considering offers.
But to your point which you will disagree, he is not worth 4 4th OA picks, but he is worth more than 4 20th OA picks.
EDM, NYR and MTL will all be close to the 20th OA.
To put that in perspective If I as an NHL GM had the 20th, 21st and 22nd OA and offered them to a team with the 2nd OA, historically most NHL GM's would say no to that trade.
To further that point if I also had the 23rd and 24th in addition to the 20th, 21st and 22nd OA , the team with the first OA would probably not take those five picks for a first OA.

Buffalo isn't asking for just draft picks. They want at least 4 pieces in the trade that equate to an equivalent of four 1st round picks, which is a lot different. Draft picks don't always pan out (a.k.a Lias Andersson), so theoretically, a team could give Buffalo what they are asking for and include zero draft picks. But, the point of my post is that Jack is not worth 4 PIECES that include the equivalent of four 1st round picks. He wasn't worth that when he was healthy and he certainly isn't worth that with a busted neck.

I did not say Buffalo was asking for four picks, I was pointing out the obvious that not all first round picks are created equal.
Where do you see four draft picks in the trade that I think will happen? How many actual first round picks are in that trade?
If you do not see mostly concurrence with my comment, we must be speaking two different languages.
No one thinks Strome nor Georgiev will return a first if traded, Chytil or Kravtsov may but they are only prospects so it is difficult to determine their value even now.
So the trade that I think will take place is marginally four first round picks.

I'm not disagreeing with what you said...perhaps saying same thing a different way. But, I don't see Chtyil as a prospect, he has played 186 games now and his skill is obvious, it's just a matter of time for him. Plus, Strome was a 1st round pick and his production as a Ranger has been good (60 points/82 games played), so he is most definitely worth a 1st round pick if traded. To get less for him that that would be a steal for the other team.
