Marner is the 2nd best 2 way winger in the league (Brad Marchand). 4th in league scoring, I think he finished 6th in takeaways. If he played the last game of the regular season he would have lead the league 2 years in a row in ice time for forwards. He does look to make a pass first but has a 26 goal season. The year he scored 26 goals Matthews was hurt at one point and Marners dad told him to try to score more goals. So he scored 7 goals in 10 games. Kadri, Tavares and Matthews all had career years in goals when Marner played with them for a season. Marners last 19 playoff games the bubble included, 4 goals 13 assists.

They would need to add 2 first rounders.

That trade is scraps. To get Marner any team will have to give up 2 roster players 1 top prospect 2 first rounders. Unless their giving up their best player and a first rounder. Of course there are a few exceptions.

You're getting two top 6 F's, a top 4 RD, and two picks. In addition, you gain a couple million in cap space as well as significant depth. The problem is Matthews is going to miss some of the season with his wrist injury and Toronto needs their big guns.

And its not enough foe marner and matthews will be ready by preseason, and if be was missing they'd beed marner all the more
