Thank your for your opinions everyone, still learning on this. Make my brain working all time. 🤔
I appreciate your honesty, but this is confusing on so many levels. Ask yourself these questions:
Why would Nashville want Weber back?
Why would you take Caufield, the most natural scorer on your team and put him a centre (not his natural position) and playing 4th-line minutes?
Why would the Habs trade Paquette having just signed him?
Why would Edmonton want to trade Puljujarvi -- a disappointment in Edmonton, but nonetheless a cheap and serviceable player -- for a couple of draft picks?
Why would Roope Hintz suddenly become a #1 centre, and why would Dallas give him up when he's their #2 LW and the heir to Jamie Benn's role? And if he is a centreman, they'll need him to replace Pavelsky in a year's time.
One thing I have learned over the past few years here is that you always have to put yourself in the shoes of the other team's GM/owner. With rare exception, you need to ask how does the move you're proposing make the other team better right now? Even then, with the cap being what it is, deals have to overwhelmingly favour the other team to be considered these days. That's true of the Capfriendly communities AND the NHL.
