I think they can be done if they want. Murray filled the biggest hole left on the roster. A top/middle-six forward would be nice, but they can let it ride for a little while with some young guys. Tatar is the hot name on the market but I’m not sure if they have the money left. Maybe they take a low-risk chance on a bargain bin guy (Marcus Johansson, Bobby Ryan, Nikita Gusev). Maybe they make a trade and move out money (Compher) to offset incoming cash, although they are a little short on assets after the Kuemper deal.

I don’t think he’s done but isn’t in a rush to make a move. My guess waits till the rfas/arb cases are all settled to see if anyone is available or if a team needs to move out some cap

Yep, Sakic doesn't need to be in any rush to acquire a forward. We can get by until the deadline, though I'd prefer an addition now.

There's only $2.4m in capspace left so there would need to be salary moving out to accommodate Tatar unless he signs super cheap.

A trade would be more likely, such as for Rakell with $1.4m retained.

I could see Tatar signing a cheap one year deal to up his value, guess we'll see what happens.

What's the word on Erik Johnson? He playing this season or LTIR bound? Really thought the Avs missed him in the last two playoffs.
