Hertl is the most important piece on the Sharks roster - no contest.

His "sale" days have passed (as to why Labanc, Kane, Meier have been the rumors not Hertl anymore). You would have to overpay for Hertl (which you have not).

The Sharks seem content on competing which is obvious and with Hertl likely willing to extend then you would have to offer a great payment. Not even saying this offer is terrible; just saying you must overpay to take Hertl away because we'd either need a replacement C (which Rask is not a 1-2C) or a high quality return of youth/ picks/ prospects. Which is not really worth it for the Wild because you'll need some of these ELCs (Beckman, Boldy, Rossi (ik he wont be used for Hertl)).

if Hertl indicates he's not willing to resign, then i would be ok with this trade, f he at all considers the extension he would never be available.

Sharks might trade him at the TDL if they do poorly and he won't resign. Otherwise, this doesn't wow anyone.

Hertly isn't putting the Minni over the top during his one year before UFA. Minni shouldn't be giving up futures for him....maybe a true contender.

THe conversation starts with Boldy and a 1st. This pile of turds does not even begin to move the needle.

Top line C's are expensive. Sharks are in the position of power in a Hertl trade and this is not even remotely good value.
