I predicted that Adams was going to outprice Eichel from truly realistic offers.

Seems I was about right on that.

Adam's is an idiot if he thinks he is getting 4 1sts for Eichel, he is not McDavid or MacKinnon FFS!

The Sabres continue to navigate the Jack Eichel trade waters. Told the price hasn’t changed: 2 NHL players, 2 top prospects and/or a 1st round pick(s) - minimum 4 assets.

Another awful year for the Sabres. This looks like an AHL team.

Sabres also dont want or need Dumba stop trying to force it. Minnesota wants to keep him as well. Dumba isnt a thing

McDavid and MacKinnon are not playing for Buffalo either.

Eichel, McDavid and MacKinnon are all bona fide elite #1 centermen in the NHL.

Hes a big name with a big contract, he's probably guessing or Minnesota brought the name up. If Dumba the main piece coming back, im done with this team, I dont care how many useless firsts they bring back. They have no chance to recover their franchise if they botch the Eichel trade

Pettersson is a cap dump and was made Pittsburgh's 6th/7th defenceman during the playoffs.

He has really fallen out of favor with Sullivan.

Turn Pettersson into a fresh 2nd round pick and Buffalo most likely says yes.



One team that could use Pettersson is Detroit.

Their defence on the left side is extremely weak and the Wings are more than 20 million from the cap floor.

True, but I will say this:


1. Buffalo will be losing Colin Miller in the expansion draft.

2. Buffalo will be trading away Ristolainen within 2-3 weeks.

3. Henri Jokiharju is not a #1 defenceman in the NHL.


Those are huge losses on the right side of Buffalo's defence and they can't be ignored.

Based on what I heard from NRD and the Instigators podcast early today, it would make sense for Kevyn Adams to ask about Dumba.

He needs to stop the bleeding.



If I were someone who doesn't want Dumba on my team, I would look at it this way

The main piece in this Eichel trade would not be Dumba, but Rossi.

He can play centre.

He's a blue-chip prospect who was taken in the top 10 in one of the best draft classes in years.

He will almost certainly be a solid NHL player.



At the end of the day, Buffalo needs to get the biggest and most valuable return for Eichel.

If that means bringing in Dumba, then Kevyn Adams did what he had to do.

If no other team matches or exceeds that offer, Buffalo will say yes to that.

Edmonton is no longer one of the worst teams in the league and they occasionally make the playoffs.

Buffalo hasn't made the playoffs in 10 years.


Since they were drafted 1st and 2nd overall in 2015, Eichel had to play with people like Kyle Okposo, Jeff Skinner and Zemgus Girgensons.

Meanwhile, McDavid gets to play with Nuge and Draisaitl.


Once Eichel is on a different team, he'll over-preform expectations.

That's a given.
