You must be a Washington Caps fan if you think the Lightning are going to do this, only thing that makes sense because of the Caps trade you made there.

Nah. It's brutal because this year, given 82 games, Cirelli was on pace for three more points than Kuznetsov can get in one postseason. smile

Go ahead and google Alexeyev. Then try to imagine what the league will do if Tampa plays them on the cap again, and find a better option.

Kuznetsov blows literally and figuratively. Cirelli had down year and was dealing with injuries. He would've had a 50+ point season last year if the season didn't get shut down. He has shown that he is a really solid young shutdown center

Count the nose-touches. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ak53AT6AXzU

March and April Kuzentsov was on a 76 point pace. Which, if he can keep that up next year, will make his 4th 70+ point season. So, I kinda think he tends to not be suck. You throw in four more Cirelli's and you could afford a Kuznetsov. Or throw in one Sergachev and you got him, one for one. But Tampa can't handle the cap on that, and I doubt WSH is giving much of anything for Gourde.

I know who Alexeyev is and your trade is so Wash Caps biased. Tampa is not going to take a locker room cancer in 30 year old Kuznetsov. Second why would they trade their selke caliber 2C as he is more then just his point total as well as their number 1 Dman in waiting Sergachev who is only 2 years older with 5 years of NHL experience more then Alexeyev. You are a Caps fan this trade is very biased.

Why lie? Kuznetsov was late to a meeting, along with the rookie goalie who's learning English. He got in trouble for that. He also hung out with the other Russian guys on the team and they all got in trouble for that. He's slightly undisciplined, but he's also led the NHL in playoff points, and he plays sports for a living. He's not in the Marines.

March and April, he got 25 points in 27 games. I think he's still got it. I don't actually think the Caps should trade him. But if they were going to, he and Kucherov would be so darn good together that you could stick Maroon on their left and Maroon would score 30 goals again.

Cirelli > Kuznetsov

I think Kuznetsov will get his fourth 70+ point season next year with the Capitals, but if Tampa wanted to turn two expansion-vulnerable players into one good one and one good exempt prospect, it would be a win-win deal. WSH then has to expose Schultz who got one more point than Sergachev last year, and is a right hand shot, but they open up a spot for McMichael or Protas to try to break into the NHL as a middle six center next year.

Actually, would throwing Schultz into this offer make a difference?

Why are Cirelli and Cernak expansion eligible? They’d protect them in a heartbeat, use common sense.

I did make a big mistake in this, but I've been too lazy to edit it: if Tampa makes these moves before expansion, it does not cost them much to dump Johnson, because SLE isn't passing on McDonagh or Cernak to take on Johnson's cap hit, just taking on Johnson's cap hit.

They’re not moving Cernak at all though. If they lost McDonagh it’d suck, but it’d clear a ton of cap space. So I don’t think it’d be so bad. Johnson would be moved with a combo of pick and prospect most likely.
