Description

I liked armChair GM IM bACK123 "Clean the slate" post. I did my own version of that

1st Tyler Johnson presumably will be taken by Seattle
Devils need more experienced players to help youngsters and Tampa needs back up goalie
Montreal needs a "game breaker" player with a winning pedigree. Given Stamkos injuries and age Tampa retains salary and in return they get a dept defenseman, a pick and Kotkaniemi.

Colorado needs tougher battle tested playoff defenseman and they get that in Mcdonagh. Tampa could use a third line center with an edge. This trade probably the most unlikely.

I think the Avalanche should give up whatever they need in order to get McDonagh. They’d win the cup with him as a 2nd pair defender.

You don't trade 20 year, third overall picked, big, 2 way centerman for a former star that clearly will never be 100% again. Stamkos is still valuable to the PP in Tampa and is a clear cut hall of famer but this would be dumb for the habs

No he said he (and Avs) havent won **** in 7 or 9 years .. dont recall exact length but point the same ... "weakening" the team by bringing in Mc Donough? .. jeesh

In Tampa we know it well .. lol .. but I would ship out Girad and Kadri for Mc Donough any day of week. Kadri unreliable and Girard exposed BAD in playoffs. You want to win or look good on paper?

so you know avs adding an additional 2.5m in cap hits here for a team already up against the cap this year, that means they would have to move out Nuke, Jost or Donskoi to accommodate? So yeah it weakens the team if you are taking out

Girard Kadri and Donskoi/Nichushkin for Palant and McDonagh or even worse, the avs dont have the cap space to keep Landeskog or Gruabaur bc they cant offer him his contract with the additional 2.5m on the books.

No need for Palat in Colorado .. just Mc Donough .. Tampa won last 2 cups because of Colemen and Goodrow additions .. BUT without McDonough we don't win any Cups ... as Cooper said McDonough deserves MVP votes .. plus 17 for a shut down D playing against top lines and PK is virtually impossible

And once again, Cap...adding cap. Avs can not take on additional cap in a deal. even for McDonough alone, avs are adding cap and that is a big No from them.
