Gotta imagine Buffalo shuts that down. Your first is the 31st pick which is essentially a second rounder at this point…

I feel like Buffalo won't be able to trade Eichel until: They let him have his surgery and he comes back and proves he can still play to an elite level and/or the Sabres allow teams to speak with Eichel and his doctors about his injury and prognosis for recovery

I think that Eichel deal is fair. KK is the main piece and then you add enough overall value and even the cap dump is a useful asset potentially. There will be fans who expect the moon for him but I think thats about the overall value we will actually see him get.

Where you are WAYYYY off is the Coleman signing though. That guy will be pushing 6m AAV mid to long term

While the value is pretty close, I don’t think this trade makes as much sense for the Sabres when compared to deals elsewhere. With Eichel (and likely Reinhart) gone in this scenario, we need forward prospects, particularly at center. Right now we have Mittelstadt and Cozens for potential top 6 Cs, and would need both to hit, and that’s not exactly likely. If we’re trading Eichel, I would expect a good center prospect or a top 5 five pick to be part of the return.

Sabres dont want Guhle, Kotkaniemi isnt nearly as interesting. MTL would have to add Suzuki and rework the trade from there

A. Its not that big of a deal B. Seriously stop over blowing the neck surgery, I havent seen a GM yet reference it as a concern C. Eichel is probably gone before the entry draft

A. It's experimental neck surgery
B. GM's are asking to speak with Eichel and his doctors and being denied so they have walked away from talks. Reportedly Kekolienen was interested but was not allowed to speak with Eichel and so he walked away from talks.
C. If he is gone before the draft it's unlikely Sabres fans are going to be very happy with the return.

Sabres fans playing the "not a big deal" card on that experimental neck surgery is hillarious.

It's such a big deal, the controversy around it is the only reason the want to trade him away 😂

I actually expect that Jack Eichel will not be traded this summer. Teams will not match the Sabres asking price therefore he probably doesn’t go anywhere until they are willing to. If Jack Eichel doesn’t like that he doesn’t have a choice. What he does have a five-year contract that he can’t get out of. There is no set timeline that Jack Eichel must be traded within, unless you mean five years until his contract expires. Even after next season when the no movement clause kicks in The Sabres can shop him if he still wants to leave, but they’re still under no obligation to trade him. When someone is willing to match the asking price if Jack doesn’t want to go there the Sabres can still tell him to waive that no movement clause or he doesn’t go anywhere. If he really wants to leave badly enough he will go anywhere that is not here.

Its not experimental, its been around for over a decade. Its not even new to pro sports. His neck surgery is not the reason why Buffalo wants to move him

Yes cause that is how you get players to come to your city willingly! If you don't grant a player his trade request after awhile other players see this as an insult to the players on the club and if that's how they treat their current players, then good luck signing FA's!

Eventually if you like money you’ll go where the money is. The Sabres can’t afford to take less than the best return. It doesn’t matter what he wants. He’s not doing the organization any favors, they don’t owe him anything.

Yeah you're probably right, to be honest I just put a random guy on the fourth. I was just debating with friends about the trade proposal that I saw somewhere. My point was, the Habs should do it.
