Absolutely not. Neal has an easy buyout if it comes down to it. Skinners contract given his play over the last two seasons is the type of deal that can completely cripple a franchise. Oilers window is opening now and Skinner could completely end the chance of competing. Biggest no i've ever seen on this sight in the last year.

Samorukov is a "meh" prospect. The Devils have a bunch of LHD prospects they are looking to pan out.... If the Devils are going to weaponize the cap room, this really isn't enough to interest a move.

Completely agree this your point on Yamamoto. He's definitely a hard working player and I'm sure he'll turn out into a great player. But for the time being he hasn't put up the numbers he is expected to playing with Draisaitl. He's likely getting around $1.5M max on a bridge deal.

He still has some trade value to a couple teams, easy to eat half his salary and get a third or fourth on top

That said there are bigger fish to fry with the cap, but if a team like Pit or Nyr want Kassian at 1.6m I would eat that other 1.6 for three years for a second. Plus whatever comes back for him a third or fifth or whatever.

3 at a time no matter how long they are. So this would tie up 1 of them for 3 years

All teams are limited to a maximum of 3 retained salary contracts per season.

I got that from the CBA so that's why I thought that.
