The Habs most likely reject that trade. They have a ton of LD prospects and would likely want a scoring LW, like Wood or Zacha, if they moved Chiarot.

Yeah I don't see why we'd move him if it weren't for Hughes or Hischier. Don't think the Devils would do that but there really isn't a point in moving him for futures like this.

I’ve been thinking about Fiala’s future for a while now. I think the best thing to do is keep him given what he brings, but will he be on the team in 3-4 years? That’s what holds me up. If we plan on moving on from him in that time it’s not a slam dunk to hold him now.

IDK if the Wild would move Fiala, but I think they would listen to this. Offering Mercer tells the Wild NJD is serious about acquiring him and the offer is a good starting point.
