I actually think the Dubois idea makes sense for both sides. The other trades though, no idea why those would happen. Expansion draft really messes with them too.

Appleton is the exact player Vancouver needs a young 3rd line centre or winger on a cap friendly deal and Joulevi is a 3rd pair defenseman at best and Kole Lind isn’t going to make the Canucks

The Jets trade for Bean because they need better defensemen and Carolina is going to lose Bean to Seattle and a 2nd and Stanley is fair to get a top 4 defenseman and trade Appleton as he will get taken by Seattle so trading for two young players and one a young defenseman that is cheap and has a a lot to prove and a new team could help boost his career, plus Finns love Winnipeg lol

Think the Canes trade is pointless, Bean is better but the Jets have enough smallish LHD, they need the physicality/nastniness Stanley brings.

You may think that but the nuks need D as bad as the Jets, and with zero cap space they need Joulevi to play as his contract will also be a value contract

The Canucks need a top 4 RHD over anything but Juolevi is not a top 4 RHD and you can’t have 2 rookies playing in the 3rd pair with Rathbone so that makes Juolevi expendable

Winnipeg definitely says no to the Vancouver and Montreal trades and Carolina says no to that trade. Personally, though I'd rather keep Stanley over trading him for Bean.

Firstly they have two top 4 RD in Myers and Schmidt and Juolevi and Rathbone are LD and will battle for a full time spot next yr, they don’t have the depth in the system to be moving young D nor do they have the cap to sign UFA’s, what van needs is a 3rd pair RD

Montreal passes on Winnipeg trade cause KK shows up in the playoffs but PLD has a knack for disappearing.

ahh Myers the Chaos Giraffe is not a top 4 defenseman and is near the bottom of most defensive metrics this past season and can’t move his feet fast side to side to save his life and Canucks should expose Myers in the expansion draft on the off chance they take him, but only Schmidt is a top 4 in that group and getting a bottom pair Defenseman is cheap to get on the UFA market or can bring back Edler if needed on the cheap but they need to get in on a trade with a team going to lose atop 4 RHD in the expansion draft like Carolina or Colorado.
Like I said Appleton is exactly what they need, he had 25 points last season which would be top 5 on the Canucks and on a cap friendly deal

Morrissey, Pionk, Bean and if Demelo is picked they still have Heinola and Juolevi or get someone as a UFA for cheaper then $3 Million cap hit.
He was playing under 17 minutes a game and being out played by Forbort in most categories
Winnipeg’s defense is why they lost to Montreal and they can’t go farther then the 2nd round with who they currently have so they have to get better by trading for someone like Bean or Graves from Colorado

I really thought that DeMelo turned into one of there better pickups last offseason. Their team really missed him when he was out. I also thought that Stanley was terrific (well far better than expected) and showed that he could develop into an excellent D guy.
