New series I’m doing is going through all 30 teams in the expansion draft and breaking down what I think is going to happen for each team. I will probably be @ing some fans of the team I am doing for feedback, and if ur not @ed don’t feel bad because I’m only doing it odd the top of my head. I encourage feedback from everyone on this site though for these, not just the fans of certain teams. I’m going to put my 3 most likely scenarios in a trade in the ACGM, in no particular order. Let’s get started:

The Buffalo Sabres are participating in the expansion draft besides barely being a hockey team. This post will most likely age very poorly since the Sabres will likely look very different with possible Eichel, Reinhart and Risto trades coming. I will just base my analysis of their current roster though.

Eichel, Reihno and Mittlestadt are all locks to be protected imo. I think Bjork, Olofsson, Asplund and Tage Thompson take the last 4 forward spots. Ik skinner has a NMC but he could very well waive it since Seattle will most definitely not be taking his contract. If he doesn’t waive though, any four of the previously mentioned forwards could be the one left unprotected.

I think it’s very very likely that the dmen protected are Borgen, Dahlin and Joki. I guess Risto could be protected but I highly doubt it. If McCabe is resigned by ED he could be protected iver Borgen though.

As of now, the only exempt goalie Buffalo has is Dustin Tokarski, so he’ll be the protected goalie for now unless Ullmark resigns.

My three most likely picks for Seattle are Miller, Risto and Tage Thompson (could be any of those four forwards though.)
