Description
Saw the Dumba for Cirelli trade on another thread, added the retention and extra pick though. Probably unlikely but a different approach.

Cirelli had a rougher year but I still think he's a great player. Problem for me is that (like Danault) he fills a similar role that is already provided for us by Eriksson Ek. We need an offensive center to play with Kaprizov.

This would be a bad trade for the lighting. They could maybe win the cup in back to back years having a lesser dman. I don't think it's remotely worth it to trade for a guy that is not very good defensively and allocate that much money for a capped out team, on a position they have proven to better handle.

Apparently they are in on JE. Have you heard anything about what they would maybe offer?

Our beat writer was on the radio today and said the Sabres are looking purely for futures. He wouldn't say this is definitively what they're looking for, but it sounds like they want both Rossi and Boldy as well as our first round picks.

Here's a podcast of the show. Eichel talk is throughout but I think the main substance is when Pat Micheletti joins about halfway through. Also Friedman is on for the last 20 minutes and there's some Eichel talk in there.

Nice, im going to give this a listen tonight, thanks.

Yeah I guess that is what they would want. I just dont know how much they will really get or how many teams will really put a ton on the table. Apparently both the Rangers and Ducks will not put their big players on the table. I wonder how Sabers feel about Rossi though. Did they not pass on him? I guess overall for an established star you pay that price and it's probably worth it (JE and Ek down the middle is elite), but giving both Rossi and Boldy plus picks- I don't know.

Thanks for the link, I forgot Guerin was going to be on this morning and I missed the first hour or so before I realized it and tuned in. KFAN has been abysmal the last few weeks keeping the podcasts up to date on the IHeart radio app. Which annoys me to no end.

Just keep in mind it's a 3 hour program. Russo was filling in for the usual guy Paul Allen today.

They did pass on Rossi, but all we know from that is that they wanted Quinn more. That could be out of need (unlikely since most teams draft best player available), maybe they had Quinn 6th on their board and Rossi 7th, or maybe they had Quinn 6th on their board and Rossi 15th (just using arbitrary numbers for the sake of an example). Sounds like they want him in an Eichel deal, so they obviously value him at least as one of our two top prospects.

Yeah, the trade would be unlikely, but it would address Tampa's weakest position and get them a 1st. Not that likely but still an interesting option.
