Go ahead and try to make a case as to why boston would do that.

Watson costs less than half of what Kassian makes, for the same role, and has a shorter contract. Ottawa doesn't consider this for a second.

Edmonton fans love to insist that William Lagesson is somehow a valuable asset.

Just seeing him in the dog house in Boston. Buying low on him. What would you see as a fit for a trade?

A trade that makes the bruins better. What else would they be looking for. They’re a contending team. A 3rd and a guy that will never play for them is essentially nothing. This is a guy that scored 27 in 68 a couple years ago. They’re not giving him away for nothing just because he hit a rough patch unless they need cap space, which they don’t.

I can’t wait until he’s traded and goes somewhere for barely anything 😂

If that happens, you can gloat all you like. Looking at their cap structure, and team needs, it makes zero sense though.

Which do you think is more advantageous to the bruins?
Option 1: let debrusk play out the final year of his contract and see if he can regain scoring form, as his trade value is at an all time low right now? If it doesn’t work, trade him for a package like you’re suggesting.
Option 2: trade him for nothing now.

Seems pretty clear, no? Its like having an unscratched lottery ticket and having someone say, “hey, give me that for free.”

Oilers fans:

“Debrusk had 1 bad year out of 4, he’s worth nothing. Give him to us for garbsge.”

Also Oilers fans:

Puju, who has stunk his entire career, “he could still be good, we want a 1st plus for him.”

🙄

LMAO

I’d rather expose Debrusk to Seattle in effort to save the young defenseman before trading him for nothing.

You know what Zboril, Urho, Achan, have in common? Far enough down the depth chart on LD they don’t see ice time. Know what else? They’d still be ahead of Laggeson on the depth chart.

Edmonton has 2 of the best players in the league. 2 studs in Nurse and RNH. 2 good prospects in Holloway and Lavoie. The rest of the roster is a dumpster fire of garbage. There is not much of interest to Boston there. If Boston trades Debrusk it will be for something of value, if not they keep him. This is of no value. That simple.

You're not getting out from under Kassian's contract that easy haha. Attach a 1st to it and Ottawa might take it seriously

Annnnnd Brady would have to beat up his own teammate. Awkward.
