I truly do not think that Nashville is very far of. They came closer than most think to beating Carolina and If they can just get the one true game-breaker that they were looking for in Duchene and Johansen and they can be actual contenders. So, I've played around a little and Offer Sheeted Elias Petterson. This move is still unlikely considering it's the Canucks top priority to resign him and Hughes but it's still possible if they can drop some cap and then Offer Sheet Pettersson on the first day of free agency before Benning can shed cap and also maybe offer him a bigger and more lengthy contract than the Canucks might be comfortable with. To shed cap, the Preds trade Ekholm which is sad but I've always felt that Ekholm is kind of a third wheel in Nashville and If Fabbro develops properly this upcoming year, they might lose him to free agency for nothing. It's a trade that had to happen to take the Preds to the next level. I've also taken the liberty of signing Rinne on a hometown discount for one more year until Askarov's contract is up in Russia and he can come over.
