That's a pretty lowball offer for Meier... and I think it takes more to dump Gardiner to SEA.

Oleksiak will get more than a ~$250k raise too.

I also can't see Mrazek resigning for that -- there are some teams out there that need a goalie (EDM, SJS, maybe even 1a/1b in PHI, etc.) and will give him a higher AAV for longer than 1 year.

While this team looks pretty sick, I just don't think it's too realistic -- but hey, that's what makes this site fun!

Yeah you're definitely right about Meier, I should've probably added a prospect like Bokk and another pick, I feel like it's hard to really determine his value after he's had a bit of a down year, most Sharks fan really weren't too happy with him this season.

While I do think Oleksiak deserves a higher raise, with a flat cap and the chance to play for a true contender I think he might take a discount. Same for Mrazek, I think he'd appriciate another season fighting for the starting job with Ned.

Meier was bad but selling low is always dumb. Look at Laine, he was awful but the jets held out for a top six center, Sharks will do the same if they trade Meier.

Pesce is better too. Back to back year watching the bruins decimate the canes in the playoffs, and its remarkable how frequently they dump the puck in Hamilton’s corner. He’s a target

In terms of offensive production, he’s had one good outlier year. His season last year was exactly in line with his averages aside from that one outlier year. Did he have a bad year, or is that just what he is?

I watched just about every sharks game. It was a bad year. Timo at his best dominates the game, but this year he was such a passive observer. He sucked bad this year.

He never dominated. He had one real good year though.

Yes im sure you know the player better than I do, with me watching 80% of Timos games and you not staying up past 8pm on the east coast.

I watch a fair amount of the sharks. I’m a night owl, and gamble my dong off, so i am very frequently betting against the sharks.

That said I’m sure you watch him more. However, you have a bias. I don’t. I have no reason to dislike the sharks. Calling Meier dominant is laughable. If a team has a player that is dominant, they do better than the sharks did.

I said when hes playing well hes dominant. Hes scored 30 goals, and played a huge physical and offensive pressure game while doing it.

There were 44 players with as many, or more goals than Meier that season. Not exactly a dominant goal scorer.
