The Flames would be the team to throw ridiculous money at Landeskog. They shouldn't. It will age like the Lucic deal. Power forwards don't age gracefully. I say that as someone that really likes Landeskog.

Who would you replace that LW with? Either 1st or 4th line?

Mangiapane is a top 6 player. His 5 on 5 play is off the charts. He's scoring at 5 on 5 at a very elite rate, he's up there with guys like Brayden Point and Mark Stone in terms of 5 on 5 goals the past couple of seasons.

The Flames could trade Gaudreau or Tkachuk and still feel good about their LW depth because Mangiapane is a legit top 6 option

Nothing wrong with signing Landeskog, I just wouldn't do it, that's just me though.

One thing I think the Flames really need to do this offseason is fix the RW. It's a mess.
Find out what BUF wants for Reinhart.
If Hyman hits UFA he's a player that I could see the Flames really targetting.
Either way, it's the biggest hole on the roster right now.

This is the deal for Eichel, like I really don't see any other package that makes sense for both sides. Our RW depth is still a problem but that first line would be an absolute nightmare to play against.

If Calgary wants to 100% get Eichel with no competition this is the deal, nobody is topping this. I still think the Flames can get him for less though

If this were the trade for Jack Eichel the Sabres would have already gotten what they want from Calgary. You wouldn’t have anything left to offer that they would want. Mangiapane would be a nice player for Buffalo, but I’m sure you consider that a lateral move at best to get Reinhart. It also might not be a one for one deal.

Buffalo probably don't get as much as people are expecting for Reinhart. Unlike Eichel, they don't have much leverage with Reinhart being 1 year from UFA. He's probably going for about TDL prices or maybe slightly higher: top prospect, young NHLer with some upside (Dube or someone similar), 1st.

Doubt both get traded to the same team.
