I would say add about $1 million to the money you’re paying Reinhart there. Not sure that trade gets it done anyway, as a division opponent you’re paying a higher price than other teams.

Reinhart at 1C is pretty much equivalent to the failed Domi at center experiment. It's a bad, bad idea.

Agreed, thats a steep price to pay for him too, Tuch should slot in as a solid middle 6 forward and Ghule could have top pairing potential, i wouldnt give up all that and a first for another middle 6 center. I feel the choices are either go big and build a package for Eichel or dont bother, Reinhart isnt pushing the needle at all and if anything habs would be worse off in a couple years.

I'm not paying that price for Reinhart. Basically 2 top 20 picks, and a couple second rounders is an over pay for him, even within division. Also don't know why Buffalo would do that whole focus on trading them out of the division thing anyways since its what cost them a better return for ROR

What cost them on the ROR trade was the owner didn't want to pay his 5 or 7 million dollars performance bonus and they had to rush to dump him

Reinhart is really good, and Domi is terrible.

That was a part of it but for some richer teams (Toronto, Montreal, NY Rangers) it wouldnt have been an issue. The real issue was the price was ridiculously high for teams inside the division, Habs for example basically said anyone but Gally and the 3rd overall and Buffalo said there wasnt a trade to be had without 3rd overall being involved. They ended up taking left overs from St Louis and not a single significant piece came out of the trade, could have made a better deal but wanted him out west more then a good return.

Reinhart is really good on the wing. Not so much as a center. Domi was good on the wing. Not so much at center.

Sam Reinhart played the last 22 games at center this season and had 13 goals and 19 points. He’s a perfect 2 way Center he isn’t great at F/O, but that’s not too important.

It's pretty important when you're expected to be the 1C...I don't know, I just don't buy him as a center. Maybe I'm completely wrong, and I can accept that. I'd rather him play on the wing with a competent center though.

Cheers!
